About us

Essex Cares supports people at home and in the community

Easy Read Version

Essex Cares was set up by Essex County Council in 2009 and was the first Local Authority Trading Company to offer social care services in the country.

We specialise in delivering support to adults across Essex. This could involve installing grab rails to help them get in and out of the house, helping them get back on their feet after a spell in hospital, or supporting someone with a learning disability to improve their job prospects and independence.

We welcome opportunities to form strategic partnerships and alliances with health, commercial and third sector agencies where there is a creative synergy in developing new service delivery models.

Promoting independence

We deliver our services to our customers through our values which underpin everything we do:-

  • Adaptable and Progressive
  • Supportive and Encouraging
  • Pride in what we do
  • Integrity
  • Responsiveness
  • Empathy and compassion

Essex Cares’ workforce
