Essex Cares gives Les a helping hand

Les is 85 and lives in a lovely quiet village close to Colchester with his wife Rose. Over the last few years, Les started to notice some health problems creeping up on him, including a few leg and chest issues.
After a visit from one of Essex Cares’ equipment technicians Les received a walking stick to aid him with his balance and an inflatable bathing cushion, which allowed him to be lowered and raised into and out of the bath, making washing and bathing a lot easier. He also received some grab rails outside his back door to help him get into and out of the house down a couple of high, steep, steps.
“The people that came to fit the grab rails and bath seat were fantastic, they did such a thorough job at putting them up and also explaining exactly how to use them – they have made my life that little bit easier now,” says Les.
