Red House is a social enterprise based in Messing, Colchester that offers disadvantaged adults the opportunity to undertake work based training that is aimed towards individuals developing increased skills in independence and progression towards voluntary or paid employment.

At Red House the emphasis is strongly around person-centred planning and personalisation by putting our customers first in all that we do. We create individual action plans with clear and achievable aims and objectives for each individual to work towards.

Red House is situated in the heart of the Essex countryside and is within easy reach of the A12 at junction 23/24.  The actual Red House site comprises of approximately 6 acres of land that houses a variety of farm yard animals, including horses, sheep and chickens, and is the home of a nature pond and wildlife area.

Conference Facilities available to hire

Red House offers two competitively priced conference rooms available for hire; both with stunning views of the surrounding gardens and countryside.  We also offer full catering facilities for room bookings as well as an outside catering service. For all enquires into our conference centre bookings or catering facilities then please call us for more information.

Fresh produce and handmade craft items for sale

On site we grow and sell a variety of plants and fresh produce in our greenhouse, on our allotments and within our poly tunnels. We sell our Red House produce on site daily and within the local village of Tiptree during Summer months. Our produce includes: fresh eggs, homemade jams and chutneys, pottery and a selection of handmade craft items.

Events at Red House

Red House holds a variety of exciting events each year that include: monthly cream and afternoon teas, children’s Easter egg hunts, Summer fairs, plant sale and farmers market weekends, regular themed talks throughout the year, Christmas fairs, children’s activity sessions and family Halloween events.
