Home Share Day Support

Easy Read Version.

Home Share Day Support is a service which we offer to you through host carers

You can attend a host carer's home with one or two other individuals where you will have the opportunity to:

  • Undertake past hobbies and interests, such as art and crafts.
  • Socialise and make friends.
  • Enjoy a 2 course meal with company.
  • Enjoy games, dance, sing, reminiscence, or just a chat.
  • By agreement there may be opportunities to access facilities within your community, including libraries, or local places of interest.

The aim of the Home Share Day Support service is to support you in retaining or learning new skills in order to remain living independently within your community. As part of this service to help people at home in Essex, we can also give you the confidence to start enjoying yourself again with the reassurance that someone will always be there to support you.

Host carers are self-employed individuals contracted to provide informal friendly support within their own homes. All host carers are checked and trained to the same high standard as other individuals working for Essex Cares.

To find out more information about the Home Share Day Support services in your area, please use the service locator on the right hand side of the page or email communitybasedservices@essexcares.org.

You can read more about HomeShare in our leaflet.
