Accessing the Reablement service

If you have the drive and desire to be as independent as you possibly can be then find out more about accessing the service:

  • If you are currently in hospital, you will receive a visit from a hospital social worker before you are discharged, who will explain the Reablement Service to you and decide if it would be suitable for you.
  • If you currently receive care but think Reablement might help you to regain some of your own independence and potentially reduce the package that you need in the future, then you can need to speak to your local Community Assessment Team or Long Term/Review Team about accessing the service.
  • If you have not had a care service before you, a friend, a member of your family or your GP, can call Social Care Direct on 0845 603 7630 and undertake a telephone review.

The Reablement service runs daily from 7am – 11pm across Essex, offering up to four visits a day. The service is non chargeable for up to six weeks as long as you are participating in the programme.
