Sensory Services Sensory Services

In order to improve independence, confidence and quality of life, the Essex Cares Sensory Service provides rehabilitation and mobility training, equipment, information and advice for:

  • Adults who are blind or partially sighted.
  • Adults who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Adults who have a combined sight and hearing loss - deafblind.

The focus of the team is to support you to regain lost skills or learn new skills, such as daily living skills in the kitchen or how to safely cross the roads.

We provide demonstrations, information and advice about equipment, which help to improve independence, as part of our home support services. This equipment includes amplified doorbells, telephones, magnifiers and loop systems. As well as this, we provide advice about technology, such as accessible computer systems or mobile phones.

Please view our sensory services video to find our more about the support we offer.
